Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to design systems for Mission Critical facilities, including HVAC, hydronic, plumbing, gas and compressed-air utilities, with emphasis on Data Center projects.

The ideal candidate will lead design efforts, develop BIM models using Revit MEP, supervise graduate engineers, and coordinate with clients while traveling within the US as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience designing large-scale mechanical systems for data center or mission critical facilities.
• Proficient in computation fluid dynamics, MEP/FP design, and reliability studies.
• Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to mechanical systems.
• Experience overseeing graduate engineers and producing design documents.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems.
• Perform space planning to guide mechanical room sizing.
• Help identify potential conflicts early through collaborative design.
• Develop mechanical construction documentation and BIM models utilizing Revit MEP or similar CAD package.
• Supervise the installation of the designed systems and equipment.
• Prepare cost estimates, specifications, and design analyses.
• Oversee the production of design documents by graduate engineers.
• Balance workload and varying requirements of multiple complex projects.
• Attend client meetings and represent the mechanical interests of the firm.
• Occasional travel within the US.
• Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
