Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC system design across a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary projects. The role covers airside, hydronic, and steam systems, from concept through construction documents.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, client-focused, and capable of managing both engineering execution and project delivery. Collaboration with MEP teams is essential for fully coordinated designs.

Qualifications

• PE license required and active in the United States.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
• Experience with Revit 2016+ (at least 25% of hours).
• Experience with energy modeling software such as Trane TRACE or IES VE.
• Travel up to 10%, including overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design for complex building systems from concept through construction documents.
• Perform load calculations and system sizing analyses.
• Prepare Basis of Design reports and engineering narratives.
• Sign and seal mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Serve as Project Manager or engineering lead for mechanical-prime projects.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and track progress.
