Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Team Leader to guide our Buildings team in delivering complex mechanical designs. You will lead, mentor, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on projects varying in scale, ensuring quality, budgets, and schedules are met.

You will apply advanced HVAC knowledge, run design led by code compliance, and collaborate with clients, officials, and contractors. In-office presence four+ days per week is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited program; ABET preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required; additional state licensure is a plus.
• 12–15 years of professional building mechanical engineering experience including large/complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineering Team: workload, staffing, budgets, and delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and support professional growth.
• Develop scopes, schedules, and design approaches for diverse projects.
• Oversee HVAC and building systems design and coordination.
• Ensure design documents meet codes, client requirements, and standards.
