Job summary

RTX is seeking an expert controls systems engineer for the Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) organization. The role supports development, build, and verification of control actuation systems across multiple programs, with emphasis on advanced control techniques and high-fidelity modeling.

The position requires extensive experience in actuation control, system architecture, and verification, with opportunities for leadership and collaboration with senior engineers and program teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• 8+ years of experience in air vehicle or missile flight actuation control design and/or analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight actuation control system architectures and implement advanced control laws.
• Design and execute hardware test plans and analysis of performance against requirements.
• Model high fidelity motor and gear train dynamics including nonlinearity and temperature effects.
• Work autonomously with periodic oversight and coordinate with senior leadership and other disciplines.
• Lead development teams focused on control actuation development.
