Job summary

RTX's Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking an expert controls systems engineer to support the design, build, and verification of control actuation systems for missile and air vehicle applications. Roles may be staffed at the PCAS location in Tucson, AZ or Huntsville, AZ.

You will develop control architectures, implement advanced control laws, and contribute to hardware test design and verification.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in air vehicle or missile flight actuation control design and/or analysis, including control architecture design, and/or requirements development, and/or performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight actuation control system architectures and implement advanced control laws.
• Design hardware test plans and perform testing and verification.
• Autonomously work with regular oversight, applying advanced control techniques and modeling.
• Develop high-fidelity motor and gear train models with nonlinearities and temperature dependencies.
