Job summary

RTX is seeking a principal mechanical design engineer for the Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) to support development, build, and verification of control actuation systems. The role requires autonomy, experience in aerospace mechanism design, and the ability to lead complex tasks within a hands-on hardware lab.

The PCAS team offers exposure to lab activities, direct access to subject matter experts, and opportunities for accelerated growth across Huntsville and Tucson facilities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advance degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
• Experience in mechanical mechanism design OR flight control systems for aerospace applications

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support as programs fluctuate, including detailed mechanical design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering
• Flex responsibilities based on organization needs and skill sets
• Work autonomously with minimal oversight, manage moderate projects, delegate work, apply advanced knowledge of control mechanism development, and influence policies and procedures
