Job summary

RTX is seeking an expert controls systems engineer for the Precision Control Actuation System (PCAS) to support development, build, and verification of actuation systems. Role involves architecture development, advanced control techniques, and rigorous testing across multiple sites (Tucson/Huntsville); strong prior missile/aerospace experience is required.

You will work autonomously, analyze flight dynamics, and contribute to model development, validation, and integration with system

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an Advanced Degree with 5+ years experience.
• 8+ years of experience in air vehicle or missile flight actuation control design/analysis, including architecture design, requirements development, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Provide controls engineering support across programs, including actuation control system architectures and advanced flight control laws.
• Develop high fidelity motor and gear train models with nonlinearity and temperature dependencies.
• Develop and execute test plans to verify performance against requirements and anchor models.
• Work autonomously with regular oversight and collaborate with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines.
