Job summary

RTX is seeking an expert controls systems engineer to support the development, build, and verification of control actuation systems for precision actuation programs. The role may be staffed at PCAS locations in Tucson, AZ or Huntsville, AZ.

You will develop actuation system architectures, implement advanced control laws, and create high-fidelity models and test plans. Strong autonomous working skills and collaboration with senior leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in air vehicle or missile flight actuation control design and/or analysis, including architecture design, requirements development, and performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight actuation control system architectures and implement advanced control laws.
• Design and execute hardware test plans and verification efforts.
• Analyze air vehicle gear train dynamics, motor control, and nonlinear system behavior in simulations and tests.
• Develop high fidelity models of motor and gear train dynamics with nonlinearities and temperature effects.
• Work autonomously with some oversight and communicate results to senior leadership.
