Job summary

RTX seeks an expert controls systems engineer to support PCAS actuation development, verification, and testing for air vehicle programs. Location options include Tucson, AZ or Huntsville, AL with on-site work.

You will design control architectures and implement advanced laws, then verify through hardware tests and simulations. The role requires 8+ years in actuation control design or an advanced degree with 5+ years, plus strong MATLAB/Simulink proficiency and experience with control

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in air vehicle or missile flight actuation control design and/or analysis, including control architecture design, and/or requirements development, and/or performance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop flight actuation control system architectures and implement advanced control laws to maximize performance.
• Design hardware test plans and execute testing, and analyze air performance simulations.
• Work autonomously with regular oversight and apply advanced knowledge of gear train dynamics, flight motor control, and analysis.
• Develop high fidelity motor and flexible gear train models with nonlinearity and temperature dependencies.
• Develop and execute test plans to verify performance against requirements and anchor models.
