Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager to lead a team of Cloud Intelligence experts aligned to sales teams across the western/central United States. You will guide field-facing SMEs, remove adoption barriers, and evangelize differentiation concepts with AWS customers and partners.

You will drive strategic partnerships, identify signals and best practices, and influence AWS go-to-market strategies, product roadmaps, and sales motions across multiple industries in the western/central U.S.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of management of technical, enterprise customer facing resources or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of managing a technical team of solution architects, sales engineers or similar technical roles experience.
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience architecting/operating solutions built on any cloud service provider like Azure, AWS, GCP, OCI, etc.

Responsibilities

• As a key member of the Solutions Architect team, ensure success in building and maintaining solutions and tactics that help customers choose AWS from a technical perspective.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices
• Build deep relationships with decision makers within customer accounts to enable them to be “Cloud advocates”
• Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS
• Develop and deploy sales motions and programs that leverage AWS Field Sales teams, as well as technology and consulting partner channels.
• Collaborate with the Service and Technical teams to create solutions that solve customer problems, including reference architectures, patterns, automation, release plan, etc.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop and align digital marketing campaigns to drive awareness and demand.
• Technical Thought Leadership
• Hire, on-board, train, and develop new Solutions Architects from internal and external sources
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct training sessions for new and existing customers
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Work with the team to organize technical workshops and facilitate the sharing of knowledge across teams
• Strategy & Innovation: articulate business/industry fundamentals (e.g., ROI, CBA, TCO); understand regulations and operational excellence; familiarity with business strategy and trends in the IT industry (e.g., CI/CD, IoT, Predictive Analytics)
• Technology Breadth: demonstrate architectural best practices applied across a breadth of technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views/roadmaps for future development, and understand the interaction between infrastructure, operations, and development
• Interface with internal leadership and external customers at the executive CxO level
• Closely collaborate with executive stakeholders across the organization, including service teams, Business Development, Marketing, Professional Services, Training, and Operations
