Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be responsible for growing our portfolio by identifying and establishing strategic partnerships and initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to develop and execute strategies that foster innovation and accelerate growth in line with business objectives and market needs. This role is suited for a highly motivated, strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of the Cell & Gene Therapies industry.

Additional Details

• Position may be remote with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally, including regular trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
• Base salary range: $163,000 - $182,000.
• Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of base salary.
• Final compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement business strategies to expand the Cell & Gene Therapies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, including collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, and CDMOs in the gene and cell therapy space.
3. Negotiate and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and threats; provide insights for strategic decisions.
5. Collaborate with R&D, product management, legal, and marketing teams to assess feasibility, drive business objectives, and manage project timelines for partnerships.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in sales and/or business development.
• Over 3 years of direct experience in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business analytics tools.
• Ability to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
