Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be responsible for growing our portfolio by identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships and business initiatives in the rapidly evolving field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to develop and implement business strategies that promote innovation and growth aligned with overall business objectives and market needs. This role is suitable for a strategic, driven individual with extensive knowledge of the Cell & Gene Therapies industry.

Additional Details

• Position may be remote, with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% domestically and internationally, including regular trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
• Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
• Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of base salary.
• Final compensation will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement business strategies to expand the Cell & Gene Therapies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders in the gene and cell therapy sector.
3. Lead negotiations and structuring of complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms that align with organizational goals while managing risks and stakeholder interests.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and threats; provide strategic insights to leadership.
5. Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, product management, legal, marketing, commercial) to assess scientific feasibility, drive business objectives, and manage project timelines and deliverables.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in sales and/or business development.
• At least 3 years of experience in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business analytics tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
