Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be instrumental in growing our portfolio by identifying and capitalizing on strategic partnerships and business development initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal to shape and execute business strategies that foster innovation and accelerate growth in alignment with overall business objectives and market needs. This role is ideal for a highly driven, strategic thinker with deep knowledge of the Cell & Gene Therapies industry.

Position Details

• Position may be worked remotely, with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% (domestic & international), including regular trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
• Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
• Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary.
• Final pay will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the development and execution of business strategies to expand the Cell & Gene Therapies Technologies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing deals with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Identify, evaluate, and cultivate new business opportunities, including collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders in the gene and cell therapy space.
3. Negotiate and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms that align with organizational goals while managing risks and stakeholder interests.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics within the cell and gene therapy landscape to identify new opportunities and threats, providing insights to senior leadership for strategic decisions.
5. Work closely with internal teams (R&D, product management, legal, commercial, marketing) to assess scientific and technical feasibility, drive business objectives, and manage project timelines and deliverables for partnerships.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in sales and/or business development.
• 3+ years of experience directly working in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with deep understanding of the industry, market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
• Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business analytics tools.
• Ability to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
