Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be responsible for growing our portfolio by identifying and capitalizing on strategic partnerships and initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to shape and execute strategies that foster innovation and growth in line with business objectives and market needs. This role is ideal for a strategic, highly driven individual with deep industry knowledge.

Additional Details
  • The position may be remote, with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% (domestic & international), including trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
  • Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
  • Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary.
  • Final pay will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.
  • Comprehensive benefits include a 401(k) plan with company contributions, paid time off, health coverage (medical, dental, vision), and wellness programs.
Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute business strategies to expand the CGT Technologies division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing deals.
  2. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders.
  3. Lead negotiations and structuring of complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
  4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to assess feasibility, drive objectives, and manage project timelines and deliverables.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years in sales and/or business development.
  • 3+ years in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of the market and customer needs.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
