Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will help grow our portfolio by identifying and capitalizing on strategic partnerships and initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.

The Senior Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to shape and execute strategies that foster innovation and growth aligned with business objectives and market needs. This role is suited for a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge of Cell & Gene Therapies.

Additional Details
  • Position may be remote, with willingness to travel up to 40% (domestic & international), including trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
  • Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
  • Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of base salary.
  • Final pay depends on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute business strategies to expand the division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing deals.
  2. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and others in the gene and cell therapy space.
  3. Negotiate and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
  4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, providing insights to leadership.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to assess feasibility, drive objectives, and manage project timelines for partnerships.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years in sales and/or business development.
  • 3+ years in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of the market, customer needs, and competition.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and analytics tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
