This role blends information architecture, semantic systems, retrieval, and data engineering. You will lead lighthouse implementations, define service objectives, and mentor engineers while navigating security, privacy, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of domain modeling, semantics, taxonomies, ontologies, knowledge graphs, and the judgement to choose the simplest durable approach.
• Strong command of search relevance, hybrid retrieval, ranking, grounded generation, context design, and evaluation.
• Ability to design reliable data pipelines and contracts across enterprise data, documents, events, and operational systems.
• Evidence of implementing provenance, quality, access, privacy, regional, retention, and lifecycle controls in production systems.
• Capacity to connect architecture choices to user outcomes, adoption, operability, and the economics of knowledge workloads.
• Clear communication and facilitation skills to align domain owners, engineers, risk teams, and senior leaders around complex trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction. Own the target architecture, roadmap, and decision principles for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding used by AI products.
• Design organizational memory with a federated approach and durable interfaces delivering clear lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts, relationships, and boundaries for AI interpretation.
• Engineer trusted ingestion patterns that preserve authority, lineage, and uncertainty across varied sources.
• Build effective retrieval by combining search, semantic, graph, and structured methods.
• Make evidence inspectable by ensuring citations, provenance, quality signals, and evaluation hooks are present.
• Embed policy in the path by partnering with security, privacy, records, and legal teams on permitted use and retention.
• Prove the architecture by leading lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Define service objectives, observability, incident learning, and quality measures to keep capabilities current.
• Build shared capability by creating reference components, onboarding practices, and mentoring engineers.
