Job summary

EY is seeking a senior architect for the Challenger program to shape the knowledge foundation for AI products, enabling trusted retrieval and provenance.

This role spans information architecture, semantic systems, data engineering, and AI product design to create reusable patterns and scalable platforms across the enterprise.

Travel up to 50% and a hybrid office model are expected as you partner with security, privacy, records, and risk teams to enforce policy and scale deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9–12+ years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience in data, information, solution, or platform architecture.
• Experience delivering shared knowledge, search, or grounded-AI capabilities.
• Hands-on fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies and SQL.
• Experience designing data pipelines with production controls.
• Policy-aware architecture with provenance, quality, and lifecycle controls.
• Cross-functional leadership guiding complex decisions and mentoring.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid office presence.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction and own architecture for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding for AI products.
• Design federated memory with shared meaning and durable interfaces.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and boundaries.
• Engineer trusted ingestion and reusable patterns across varied sources.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph, and structured methods.
• Make evidence inspectable with citations, provenance, and quality signals.
• Embed policy in the path with security, privacy, retention, and deletion rules.
• Lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.
• Define service objectives, observability, and quality measures post-launch.
• Build shared capability, guide cross-functional architecture decisions.
