Job summary

EY is seeking a senior Architect/Leader within Challenger to shape the knowledge, retrieval, and grounding capabilities powering our AI products. You will define architecture across enterprise information, provenance, and access controls, guiding lighthouse implementations from prototype to production.

You will lead federated memory design, collaborate with security and legal teams, and drive scalable, trust-based AI systems across varied domains and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in data, information, solution, or platform architecture.
• Experience owning production AI, search, or knowledge systems.
• Proven delivery of a shared knowledge or grounded AI capability across sources.
• Fluency with semantic, graph, or retrieval technologies; strong SQL and a general-purpose language.
• Experience designing data pipelines with production controls.
• Evidence of policy-aware architecture and architectural judgement.

Responsibilities

• Set the knowledge direction, owning target architecture and roadmap for knowledge, retrieval, and grounding for AI products and agents.
• Design organizational memory with a federated, durable interface and clear lifecycle expectations.
• Translate business questions with domain experts to define concepts and boundaries for AI interpretation.
• Engineer trusted ingestion and reusable patterns for bringing sources into the platform with provenance and licensing.
• Build effective retrieval using search, semantic, graph, and structured methods with trade-off visibility.
• Ensure evidence is inspectable with citations, provenance, quality signals, and evaluation hooks.
• Embed policy in the path by partnering with security, privacy, and legal teams for enforceable requirements.
• Lead lighthouse implementations from prototype to production to prove architecture and scale.
• Define service objectives, observability, incident learning, and quality measures for ongoing reliability.
• Create reference components and onboarding practices, mentoring engineers and guiding cross-functional decisions.
