Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in the United States is seeking an experienced M&P Engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team and drive material and process qualification for crew-facing hardware in a pressurized module.

You will lead cross-functional work with suppliers, develop test plans, review drawings, and ensure adherence to NASA standards and contamination controls while traveling to partner sites as needed.

Qualifications

• MS degree required and 8+ years of M&P engineering in a crewed space program.
• In-depth NASA cleanliness, contamination, toxicity, and life support materials knowledge.
• Familiar with NASA-STD-6001 and related crewed hardware requirements.
• Experience with material data analysis and testing plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes (aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, composites).
• Own material and process requirement implementation for crew-facing hardware in a pressurized module.
• Lead material characterization and qualification efforts for crew-facing hardware.
• Review production drawings for large assemblies and authorize sign-off.
• Lead internal and external M&P efforts including specs, supplier qualification, and testing.
• Develop internal engineering and quality processes for material evaluation and qualification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
