Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced M&P Engineer to support Lunar Permanence hardware. You will own material and process requirements, coordinate qualification activities, and lead signatory releases for crew-facing components in a pressurized module.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop standards, ensure safety and reliability, and apply NASA-inspired practices across materials, contamination control, and life-support considerations.

Qualifications

MS degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of demonstrated M&P engineering experience on a crewed space program.
Familiarity with NASA cleanliness, contamination, toxicity, and life support system materials requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide broad support for aerospace grade materials and processes (aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composites).
Own material and process requirement implementation and verification for crew-facing hardware in a pressurized space crew module.
Lead material characterization and qualification efforts for crew-facing hardware.
Review production drawings for large complex assemblies and document reviews.
Lead and coordinate M&P signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts, including specifications, supplier qualification, First Article Inspection, testing, and updates.
Develop internal engineering and quality processes to standardize material evaluation, implementation, and qualification.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
