Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a talented M&P Engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team and advance material and process capabilities for crewed space hardware. This role focuses on implementing and verifying material requirements, coordinating qualification efforts, and leading signatory releases of drawings for critical components.

The position requires deep knowledge of aerospace materials, NASA standards, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable crew modules for lunar missions.

Qualifications

• MS degree required in aerospace, material, mechanical, manufacturing or chemical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of M&P engineering on a crewed space program.
• Familiarity with NASA cleanliness, contamination, toxicity, and life support materials requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes including aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composite.
• Own material and process requirement implementation and verification for crew-facing hardware in a pressurized space module.
• Lead material characterization and qualification efforts for crew-facing hardware in a pressurized space module.
• Review production drawings for large complex assemblies and document reviews to requirements.
• Lead signatory release of engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
• Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts, including specifications, supplier qualification, first article inspection, testing, and updates.
• Develop internal engineering and quality processes to standardize material evaluation and qualification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
