Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior M&P Engineer for the Lunar Permanence team in Florida. You will support crewed hardware from material selection to qualification, ensuring compliance with NASA standards and safety requirements.

This role involves coordinating internal and external teams, reviewing drawings, and developing robust material processes. The position requires 8+ years in M&P engineering for crewed space programs, US citizenship or eligible status, and willingness to travel to vendor

Qualifications

  • M.S. degree in Aerospace, Material Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of demonstrated M&P Engineering experience on a crewed space program.
  • Familiarity with NASA cleanliness, contamination, toxicity, and life support system materials requirements and standards.
  • Knowledge of NASA-STD-6001 and related crewed hardware requirements.
  • Experience developing and executing test plans for analysis and qualification of components, materials, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad support for aerospace grade materials and processes.
  • Own material and process requirement implementation and verification for crewed hardware.
  • Lead material characterization and qualification efforts for crewed hardware.
  • Review production drawings and document reviews to requirements.
  • Release engineering drawings for parts and assemblies.
  • Lead internal and external M&P efforts including specifications and supplier qualification.
  • Develop internal engineering and quality processes to standardize material evaluation and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Lunar organization and other units.
