Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced M&P Engineer to join the Lunar Transportation team in the United States. This role focuses on corrosion prevention and control across vehicle systems and materials, delivering safe aerospace solutions.

You will lead qualification efforts, design reviews, supplier qualification, and develop test plans for aerospace materials and processes, with NASA standards expertise. Travel to Blue Origin and vendor sites is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum a B.S. in Aerospace, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of M&P engineering experience on a production flight program.
  • In-depth knowledge of NASA corrosion prevention requirements and standards.
  • Experience with dissimilar metal compatibility and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with NASA-STD-6012 corrosion prevention requirements.
  • Experience reviewing materials and manufacturing processes for aerospace apps.
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans for components, materials and processes.
  • Knowledge of MMPDS, MAPTIS, CMH-17 for material data analysis.
  • Experience managing materials/process data in accessible databases.
  • Willingness to travel to Blue Origin and vendor sites.

Responsibilities

  • Provide broad support for aerospace materials and processes (aluminum, steel, inconel, copper, bronze, composites).
  • Own corrosion prevention and control plan development, requirements and verification.
  • Lead corrosion characterization and qualification efforts.
  • Review production drawings for large assemblies and document reviews.
  • Responsible for M&P signatory release of engineering drawings.
  • Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts, including supplier qualification and testing.
  • Develop internal engineering and quality processes to accelerate material evaluation and qualification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
