Jabil, a global engineering and manufacturing solutions provider, seeks a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for LV switchgear based in Prince George, Virginia. You will serve as the senior authority for mechanical architecture, validation strategy, and lifecycle support across programs.

You will lead design reviews, drive DFM/DFX initiatives, and collaborate with customers, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality teams to meet safety, cost, and reliability objectives.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience including LV switchgear experience.
• Proven senior technical leadership across multiple programs or product launches.
• Experience with FEA, CFD and thermal analysis.
• Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill.

Aufgaben

• Own and govern the mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear and associated equipment.
• Translate requirements into scalable specifications, design rules, and roadmaps.
• Lead system-level mechanical architecture decisions for enclosure systems and busbar interfaces.
• Define validation strategies including thermal, seismic, and safety testing.
• Mentor engineers and develop reusable standards and design guides for LV switchgear.
