Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Low Voltage switchgear. You will own mechanical engineering from concept to production, driving safety, reliability, cost targets, and manufacturability across global teams. The role requires deep LV experience, strong CAD skills, and leadership in NPI programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, or power distribution products.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on mechanical engineering execution for NPI programs from concept through production release.
• Strong CAD proficiency using Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent 3D CAD platforms.
• Knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, IEC 61439, NEMA, IEEE C37.20.1, ANSI/IEEE switchgear standards, and associated mechanical design requirements.
• Experience with FEA, CFD/thermal analysis, and structural simulations.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
• Lead enclosure design, busbar systems, and safety/maintainability features.
• Oversee thermal design, CFD, and temperature-rise validation.
• Drive design for manufacturability and cost targets across global sites.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, and regulatory teams.
