Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear Mechanical in Prince George, Virginia. You will lead mechanical design from concept through production release for LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, and power distribution equipment.

The role requires 10+ years in mechanical engineering including 5+ years in LV switchgear, strong CAD skills, and knowledge of relevant standards. On-site collaboration and global program leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in LV switchgear or related power distribution products.
• Strong leadership on mechanical engineering execution from concept to production release.
• Proficient in Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent 3D CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
• Lead enclosure, busbar, insulation, and mechanical hardware design for safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Lead thermal engineering activities including airflow, ventilation, CFD, and thermal validation tests.
• Drive design transfers, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp support.
• Collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Ensure compliance with UL/IEC/NEMA and customer-specific requirements.
