Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Low Voltage switchgear in Prince George, VA. You will own mechanical design execution from concept through production, ensuring safety, reliability, and manufacturability while aligning with customer requirements and standards.

You will lead DFx activities, oversee qualification testing, and collaborate with global engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and regulatory teams to deliver robust power distribution solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years mechanical engineering experience including 5+ years in LV switchgear or power distribution products.
• Strong CAD proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Lead design verification, prototype builds, and production release.
• Coordinate with global teams on manufacturability, cost, and quality targets.
• Ensure compliance with UL 891/1558, IEC 61439, NEMA and IEEE standards.
• Mentor engineers and drive DFx initiatives and risk assessments.
