Job summary

Jabil, a global engineering, manufacturing and supply chain solutions provider, seeks a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear. Based in Prince George, VA, you will own mechanical design from concept through production, interface with customers, and drive cost, quality, and schedule objectives across global sites.

You will lead DFx initiatives, thermal analyses, and design verification while ensuring compliance with UL/IEC standards and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• 10+ years mechanical engineering experience, with 5+ in LV switchgear or power distribution.
• NPI leadership from concept to production release with cost, quality, and manufacturability goals.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and deliverables.
• Lead enclosure, busbar, insulation and mechanical hardware design for safety and reliability.
• Oversee thermal design, CFD analysis, and thermal validation testing.
• Drive DFx, design transfer, and manufacturing readiness across global sites.
• Ensure compliance with UL 891/1558, NEC, IEC 61439, NEMA, and related standards.
• Interface with customers during design reviews and issue resolution.
