Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, Virginia is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for LV switchgear. You will act as the senior technical authority, leading mechanical architecture, validation strategies, and lifecycle support across programs.

Collaborate with global teams to meet safety, quality, cost, and reliability goals. The role requires extensive experience in low-voltage switchgear, advanced CAD (Creo/SolidWorks), and Fluency in design for manufacturing and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern the mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, and power distribution equipment across programs.
• Translate requirements into scalable specifications, design rules, roadmaps, and release deliverables.
• Lead system-level mechanical architecture decisions for enclosure systems and busbar support structures.
• Provide technical direction for thermal engineering activities including airflow design and CFD analyses.
• Define and govern mechanical design criteria for structural integrity, GD&T, and assembly access.
• Mentor engineers and develop reusable standards and guidelines for LV switchgear mechanical engineering.
