Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Engineer – Low Voltage Switchgear in Prince George, VA. You will own the electrical design, architecture, and validation of LV switchgear, leading from concept to production release, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, cost targets, and quality objectives.

You will guide protection, control, metering, and communication systems, oversee design transfer, and collaborate across global teams while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, including 5+ years in LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, or power distribution products.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on multiple NPI programs and successful product launches.
• Expert knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, UL 508A, UL 845, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and applicable ANSI/IEEE standards.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear, including protection, control, metering, communications, and monitoring systems.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
• Contribute to system architecture development and lead protection, control, metering, and power distribution design in line with requirements.
• Lead development and validation of protection and coordination philosophies and arc-flash mitigation strategies.
• Lead concept development, prototype builds, design verification, pilot production, and production release activities.
• Drive engineering decisions to optimize cost, performance, manufacturability, and quality.
• Oversee design transfer and production ramp across global sites; support manufacturing readiness.
