Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, Virginia, seeks a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Switchgear. You will own LV switchgear design from concept through production, aligning with customer requirements, manufacturing, quality and cost targets.

You will guide protection, metering, and communications, and interface with customers during reviews and FAT/SAT activities. The role requires 10+ years in electrical engineering with LV switchgear experience, strong leadership, and proficiency in IEC 61850, UL/IEEE

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems preferred).
10+ years electrical engineering experience, incl 5+ years in LV switchgear or power distribution.
Demonstrated technical leadership on multiple NPI programs and launches.
Expert knowledge of UL 891/1558/508A, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584 and ANSI/IEEE standards.
Experience with IEC 61850 and Modbus communications; device integration.

Responsibilities

Own electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear including protection, control, metering, communications and monitoring.
Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
Lead design transfer, pilot production, and production release activities across sites.
Drive DFM/DFT/DFR and VAVE initiatives to optimize cost and reliability.
Oversee validation and certification activities (arc-flash, short-circuit, etc.).
