Job summary

Jabil in Prince George, Virginia, is seeking a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear to lead electrical design, validation, and lifecycle support of LV switchgear and power distribution products.

You will own electrical engineering execution from concept through production release, aligning with customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, quality objectives, cost targets, and lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power Systems preferred) or related field.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering with 5+ years in LV switchgear/power distribution.
• Leadership on multiple NPI programs and product launches.
• Expert knowledge of UL/ANSI/IEEE standards governing LV switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, protection relays, metering, and LV switchgear.
• Experience with IEC 61850 and Modbus RTU/TCP communications.
• Proficient with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical, wiring docs, and configuration mgmt.
• PLM experience (Windchill or equivalent) and NRTL certification support.
• Familiarity with OSHA, LOTO, and electrical safe work practices.
• Experience with power system analysis tools (ETAP/SKM/EasyPower).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and architecture of LV switchgear, including protection and metering.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specs and deliverables.
• Lead design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp activities.
• Interface with customers during design reviews and issue resolution.
• Drive DFM/DFT/DFR and VAVE initiatives across programs.
• Oversee validation testing: dielectric, temperature-rise, arc-flash, short-circuit.
• Collaborate with global teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and regulatory.
