Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Engineer for Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear Mechanical in Prince George, Virginia. You will own the mechanical design, development, validation, and lifecycle support of LV switchgear and power distribution products, serving as the technical lead from concept through production release.

You will align with customer requirements, manufacturing capabilities, quality objectives, cost targets, and lifecycle processes, while leading DFx initiatives and collaboration with global

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years mechanical engineering experience, including 5+ years in LV switchgear/power distribution.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on mechanical engineering execution from concept to production release.
• Strong CAD proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent.
• Knowledge of UL 891, UL 1558, IEC 61439, NEMA, IEEE C37.20.1, ANSI/IEEE switchgear standards.
• Experience with FEA/CFD and seismic design considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design and architecture of LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, and power distribution equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering specifications and design deliverables.
• Lead design verification, prototype builds, pilot production, and production release activities.
• Drive decisions to optimize cost, performance, manufacturability, schedule, and quality.
• Lead design transfer and support manufacturing readiness across global sites.
• Oversee qualification testing and field issue resolution.
