Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a spacecraft development engineer to design, implement, and verify flight software using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA TRICK, across desktop, SIL, and HIL environments.

The role involves building multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle simulations, collaborating with GN&C and subsystem teams to validate plant models and ensure accurate verification of functionalities, and supporting delivery of lunar payloads with high reliability.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• Experience auto coding Simulink to C++.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and first-principles physics-based mathematical models.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and CI pipelines (Gitlab).
• Experience with git configuration management.
• Attention to detail and ownership; willing to perform low-level tasks.
• US citizen or eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in the development of the tools needed to design, build, deploy and support our unique and state-of-the art simulation infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for a multi-vehicle simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA’s TRICK framework.
• Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineers to support the development of low- and high-fidelity plant models.
• Support the development, and execution of simulations and tools required for verification of functionalities.
• Interact with engineers across disciplines to assist with and ensure validation of models.
