Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a spacecraft development engineer to build and validate our simulation infrastructure and multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle scenarios using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework.

You will collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems to verify models and support verification tools, contributing to safe, repeatable spaceflight and scalable testing across CI pipelines.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• Experience auto coding Simulink to C++.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and 1st principles physics-based mathematical models.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and CI pipelines such as Gitlab.
• Experience with git configuration management.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership.
• Desire to work hands-on in a team and across software lifecycle phases.
• US citizenship or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in developing tools to design, build, deploy, and support our simulation infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for a multi-vehicle simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework.
• Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems engineers to support low- and high-fidelity plant models.
• Support development and execution of simulations and tools for verification of functionalities.
• Interact with engineers across disciplines to validate models.
