Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a spacecraft development engineer to join the Lunar Permanence team in Seattle. You will develop multidisciplinary models and simulations to ensure the correctness and performance of flight software using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework across SIL, HIL, and on-vehicle platforms.

You will collaborate with GN&C and spacecraft systems engineers to validate models, build verification tools, and contribute to verification and validation of aerospace simulations

Qualifications

• Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• Experience auto coding Simulink to C++.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and 1st principles physics-based mathematical models.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks and CI pipelines such as Gitlab.
• Experience with git configuration management.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, willing to perform low-level tasks.
• U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or eligible immigrant status.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in the development of the tools needed to design, build, deploy and support our unique and state-of-the art simulation infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for a multi-vehicle simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA’s TRICK framework.
• Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineers to support development of low- and high-fidelity plant models.
• Support the development and execution of simulations and tools for verification of functionalities.
• Interact with engineers across disciplines to assist with and ensure validation of models.
