Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a spacecraft development engineer to design, build, and validate simulation infrastructure for lunar mission work. You will develop models using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework, collaborating across GN&C and spacecraft teams to ensure accurate verification of functionalities.

You will work on multi-vehicle simulations, contribute to software-in-the-loop activities, and help maintain high standards of safety and quality in aerospace software and models.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
• 2+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink.
• Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and first principles physics-based mathematical models.
• Familiarity with auto coding Simulink to C++.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines such as Gitlab.
• Experience with configuration management.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership, willing to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Actively involved in the development of tools to design, build, deploy and support our simulation infrastructure.
• Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework.
• Collaborate with GN&C and other subsystems and spacecraft engineers to support plant models development.
• Support development and execution of simulations and tools for verification of functionalities.
• Interact with engineers across disciplines to validate models.
