Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking an experienced dock supervisor to lead and develop the team, ensuring an efficient and safe LTL operation. You will manage dock planning, scheduling, and departmental goals while upholding company policies and customer communication standards.

The role requires prior management and dock experience in LTL, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to work long hours including nights and weekends. Local market knowledge is favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of LTL trucking industry; basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership: hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate.
• Team-building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Strong planning and organization skills.
• Proficient in AS/400 and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees; set targets, monitor performance, coach and develop staff.
• Ensure efficient, safe LTL operation; plan docks and schedules.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and regulations.
• Participate in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet all KPIs and use company tools to improve processes.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email.
• Oversee dock paperwork and ensure timely processing.
