Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines in the United States is seeking a dock supervisor to lead and direct dock employees, set targets, monitor performance and coach staff to improve service levels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership: hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Team building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Good computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
• Willing to work 50 hours/week on average.
• Able to work any shift including nights/weekends in various weather conditions.
• Able to lift ~20 lbs. or more as needed.
• Comply with all company policies and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees, set targets, monitor performance and develop staff.
• Manage an efficient LTL operation with dock planning and scheduling.
• Enforce safety policies and government regulations.
• Involved in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Strive to meet all KPI targets and output goals.
• Utilize company tools and processes to improve efficiency.
• Review and revise schedules to increase efficiency and lower costs.
• Coordinate equipment movement (trailers and tractors) with others.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax or email.
• Ensure dock paperwork is accurate and timely.
• Maintain regular attendance and reliability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
