Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead and direct dock employees, set targets and monitor performance for an efficient LTL operation. You will ensure safety, manage scheduling, and oversee paperwork and communications with customers.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, coaching, and the ability to meet KPIs while coordinating with management on equipment and staffing in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work extended hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent, Bachelor degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of the LTL trucking industry; knowledge of local metro area.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Ability to hire, coach, counsel, train and terminate employees.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to plan, organize and manage schedules and paperwork.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week including nights/weekends.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees and set targets; monitor performance and develop staff.
• Ensure efficient, clean, and safe LTL operation; plan dock and schedules.
• Enforce company policies and safety rules; comply with regulations.
• Involve in hiring and termination processes as needed.
• Meet KPIs and use enhancement tools to improve operations.
• Review and revise schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Oversee equipment movement and allocation in collaboration with supervisors.
• Communicate with customers by phone, fax, or email.
• Ensure documentation is completed accurately and on time.
