Job summary

Prudential Financial is seeking an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to join the Long-Term Disability Core Team. The role requires expert knowledge in complex LTD claims, policy provisions, and collaboration with claim professionals to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will coach peers, provide technical guidance, and help prioritize actions to maintain block health, while ownership remains with the individual claim professional.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, benefit calculations, and Social Security benefits.
• Proven ability to analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios and recommend sound strategies.
• Experience coaching claim professionals and providing actionable feedback.
• Ability to interpret claim data and trends to identify risks and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an LTD technical expert for the Team Lead and claim professionals on complex matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical/vocational factors, and claim strategy.
• Coach peers to strengthen critical thinking and consistent practices.
• Offer timely feedback to improve technical capability and decision quality.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching needs.
• Monitor claim block health with inventory and performance indicators and support corrective actions.
• Contribute to technical training and knowledge sharing for the team.
• Advise on high-risk or complex claims with policy-aligned approaches.
