Prudential Financial is seeking a Disability Claims Specialist to serve as a technical expert for Long-Term Disability claim management. You will coach professionals, interpret policy provisions, and guide complex claims with a focus on risk reduction and quality outcomes.

The role supports the Team Lead with training, trend analysis, and process improvements while maintaining ownership and execution with the claim professional.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Long-Term Disability policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, benefit calculations, Social Security benefits.
• Strong communication, consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to independently analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios, identify key issues, and recommend sound claim strategies and next steps.
• Demonstrated success coaching claim professionals, providing actionable feedback, and building technical capability and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert to Team Lead and claim professionals on complex claim management matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical and vocational considerations, claim strategy, benefit eligibility, and next steps.
• Coach claim professionals through complex claim scenarios and reinforce sound practice.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback to improve capability and claim decisions.
• Analyze claim activity and outcomes to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Partner with Team Lead to monitor claim block health via inventory and performance indicators.
