Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Life Sciences Business Development professional to lead GTM for life sciences, enabling customers and partners to adopt AWS technologies. You will shape strategy, own high-potential opportunities, and mentor junior BD colleagues in a fast-paced cloud environment.

You will engage with diagnostics, pharma, biotech, and CROs, driving revenue growth and delivering compelling proposals across genomics and clinical diagnostics workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
• 5+ years of professional or military experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience developing strategies influencing leadership decisions.
• 5+ years of Life Sciences experience.
• Experience with startups or large enterprise customers.
• Experience in business development or sales within life sciences, healthcare, or tech.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and technical evaluations.
• Experience mentoring junior team members in BD.
• Familiarity with genomics, bioinformatics, precision medicine, or clinical diagnostics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong technical understanding of AWS services to communicate value to diagnostics, pharma, biotech, and CROs.
• Lead compelling business and technical proposals with sales, pre-sales, and solutions architecture.
• Own and manage high-potential opportunities, guiding customers through the sales cycle and addressing objections.
• Drive growth of HealthOmics and Clinical Diagnostics services relationships with key systems integrators and partners.
• Contribute to revenue growth and pipeline targets in healthcare and life sciences verticals.
• Define and execute go-to-market plans for genomics, clinical diagnostics, and personalized medicine.
• Interface with customers at VP/Director level (VP Operations, Director Bioinformatics, Head of Clinical Systems).
• Collaborate with Sales, BD, Product, Finance, Marketing, Training, Operations, and Legal as needed.
• Mentor junior BD team members on life sciences domain expertise and deal strategy.
