Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Life Sciences Business Development Lead to define and drive GTM strategies for life sciences customers and partners. You will identify opportunities, shape proposals, and guide deals from discovery to closing, leveraging AWS capabilities in genomics, precision medicine, and clinical diagnostics.

In this role, you will lead cross-functional teams across Sales, Solutions Architecture, Product, and Legal, mentor junior BD colleagues, and own pipeline

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years in business development or sales in life sciences, healthcare, or tech sectors.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles and technical evaluations.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Familiarity with genomics, bioinformatics, precision medicine, or clinical diagnostics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong technical understanding of AWS services to communicate value to diagnostics, pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and clinical research organizations.
• Lead the delivery of compelling business and technical proposals tailored to genomics, precision medicine, and clinical diagnostics applications.
• Own and manage high-potential opportunities, guiding customers through the sales cycle and addressing technical objections specific to healthcare data security, regulatory compliance, and bioinformatics workflows.
• Drive the growth of HealthOmics and Clinical Diagnostics services relationships by engaging with key systems integrators and industry partners in the life sciences sector.
• Contribute to revenue growth and service adoption to meet program revenue and pipeline targets in the healthcare and life sciences vertical, owning pipeline development for your accounts.
• Define and execute go-to-market plans that cover key segments and customers in the genomics, clinical diagnostics, and personalized medicine fields, identifying scalable patterns across the customer base.
• Interface with customers at the VP and Director level, including roles such as VP of Operations, Director of Bioinformatics, and Head of Clinical Systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, including Sales, Business Development, Product, Finance, Marketing, Training, Operations, and Legal, with a focus on healthcare and life sciences industry requirements.
• Mentor junior business development team members on life sciences domain expertise and deal strategy.
