Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Senior Life Sciences Business Development Lead to define and drive GTM strategies for life sciences customers and partners. You will own end-to-end opportunities and guide complex sales cycles with cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with Sales, pre-sales, solutions architecture, and partners to address genomics, clinical diagnostics, and personalized medicine applications, while mentoring junior staff and shaping service growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing, negotiating and executing business agreements
• Experience mentoring or developing junior team members in a business development function
• Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions
• 5+ years of Life Sciences experience
• Experience with startups or large enterprise customers
• Experience in business development or sales roles within life sciences, healthcare, or technology sectors
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and technical evaluations
• Familiarity with genomics, bioinformatics, precision medicine, or clinical diagnostics workflows

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong technical understanding of AWS services to communicate value propositions to diagnostics, pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and clinical research organizations.
• Lead the delivery of business and technical proposals in collaboration with sales, pre-sales, solutions architecture, and other teams, tailored to genomics and clinical diagnostics.
• Own and manage high-potential opportunities, guiding customers through the sales cycle and addressing technical objections.
• Drive growth of HealthOmics and Clinical Diagnostics services by engaging with systems integrators and industry partners.
• Contribute to revenue growth and service adoption to meet targets in healthcare and life sciences vertical, owning pipeline development.
• Define and execute GTM plans across genomics, clinical diagnostics, and personalized medicine fields.
• Interface with customers at VP/Director level including roles like VP of Operations and Head of Clinical Systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Business Development, Product, Finance, Marketing, Training, Operations, and Legal.
• Mentor junior business development team members on life sciences domain expertise and deal strategy.
