Qualifications

• 5+ years of Life & Health Underwriting experience on the insurance or reinsurance side with proficiency in risk selection and case management
• FLMI and/or FALU designation, or active progress toward earning one
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess complex risk factors
• Familiarity with AI-enabled underwriting tools and digital resources
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

• Apply disciplined, evidence-based risk selection across medical, non-medical, financial, product, market, and governance considerations
• Escalate complex or unusual matters appropriately and apply guidelines in a commercially sound way
• Partner with clients and internal cross-functional teams to provide underwriting expertise for projects
• Promote Life Guide and stay current on updates for client guidance
• Participate in annual client underwriting seminars, webinars, and industry discussions
• Support a culture of continuous learning through training and meetings
• Maintain knowledge of core insurance products, legislation, taxation, risk selection principles, and tools
• Travel up to 10% for meetings and conferences
