Job summary

Swiss Re in the U.S. Life & Health underwriting group seeks a sharp, collaborative underwriter to assess medical, financial and non-medical risk with evidence-based methods. You’ll partner with clients and cross-functional teams, apply the Life Guide, and contribute to seminars and thought leadership while maintaining high service standards.

You’ll join a hybrid workplace with opportunities across multiple US offices and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Life & Health underwriting experience on the insurance or reinsurance side.
• FLMI and/or FALU designation, or active progress toward earning one.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for complex risk factors.

Responsibilities

• Apply disciplined, evidence-based risk selection across medical, non-medical and financial factors.
• Escalate complex matters and apply guidelines in a commercially sound way.
• Partner with clients and cross-functional teams to provide underwriting expertise.
• Promote Life Guide and stay current on updates.
• Participate in client seminars, webinars, and thought leadership discussions.
• Maintain knowledge of core products, legislation, and underwriting tools.
