Qualifications

• 5+ years Life & Health underwriting experience in insurance or reinsurance.
• FLMI and/or FALU designation, or active progress toward earning one.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking for complex medical, financial, and non-medical risk factors.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled underwriting tools and digital resources.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills, capable of balancing high-volume workload.

Responsibilities

• Apply disciplined, evidence-based risk selection across medical, non-medical, financial, product, market, and governance considerations.
• Escalate complex or unusual matters and apply Swiss Re guidelines in a commercially sound way.
• Partner with clients and cross-functional teams to provide underwriting expertise for projects.
• Promote Life Guide and stay current on updates and guidance for clients.
• Participate in client seminars, webinars, and industry engagement to strengthen relationships.
• Support a culture of continuous learning through training programs and meetings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of core insurance products, legislation, taxation, and AI-enabled tools.
• Travel as needed (up to 10%) for internal meetings and client engagements.
