Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks an experienced structural loads engineer to support launch vehicle CLA development and related modeling efforts. You will build FE models, run simulations, and document results for internal, government, and customers.

Requirements include 8+ years of experience, a passion for aerospace loads, and proficiency with NASTRAN and MATLAB. You will tackle complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Passion for aerospace vehicle structural loads and related analysis.
• Finite Element Modeling experience.
• NASTRAN and MATLAB proficiency.
• Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based methods.
• Ability to present data for engineering applications.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Launch vehicle CLA development and execution with cross-discipline inputs.
• Document CLA results for internal, government, and customers.
• FE Model development/refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.
• FE Model reduction using Component Modal Synthesis methods.
• General loads development for launch vehicles and related ground systems.
• Develop mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Manage large datasets, post-processing for engineering applications.
• Handle other loads tasks as required.
