Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a senior structural loads engineer to develop and validate loads analyses for new space vehicles. You will perform CLA, refine FE models, and reduce models using synthesis methods while collaborating across disciplines to ensure accurate inputs and outputs.

The role requires strong FE modeling skills, experience with NASTRAN and MATLAB, and the ability to present data clearly to customers and internal teams. U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in physics-based loads analysis and hand calculations.
• Finite Element Modeling experience using industry tools.
• Strong communication and data presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute CLA for launch vehicles with cross-discipline inputs.
• Document CLA results for government and commercial customers.
• Develop/refine FE models and correlate with modal tests.
• Reduce FE models with Component Modal Synthesis (e.g., Craig-Bampton).
• Develop loads for launch vehicles and ground systems.
• Create mathematical models and simulations for loads analysis.
• Manage large data sets and post-process for engineering use.
• Perform other structural loads tasks as needed.
